Kelby is two weeks into day care and is adjusting well... Actually we both are. It's nice to be on a schedule. I drop Kelby off around 715 and pick him up at 530. When I dropped him off on Friday, Jodi Johnson's two little boys ran right to him and were saying Kelby is here, Kelby is here! I think he is already the popular boy at day care:) (The pics in the red gray/red shirt are Kelby's first day of day care)
Last week Andrew came down with Influenza A so he had to stay at Grandma Lori's house for the week. He is feeling better and we escaped coming down with the flu! Before Andrew was down for the count he put up Christmas lights on our house! A picture is below! You can see Ben helping Andrew in the loader bucket! The lights are helping us get into the Xmas spirit with these abnormal warm temperatures!
Each year MVAO has a all class volleyball tournament. This year we came out on top! It was 10 years ago when we made our appearance at the state tournament! Michelle Hamers offered to baby sit Kelby while Amy and I played some vball. Below are some pictures!
Kelby's first Thanksgiving dinner was spent at Grandma Sue's and Grandpa Ron's!
The biggest news of the week is that Kelby has a new cousin and best friend!! Baby Beau James was born on November 27th! He is so BEAUtiful! The boys are exactly 11 weeks apart! Oh they will have so much fun together! :)
Aunt Wendy, Uncle Brad and Cousin Ethan came down for the weekend to see the baby boys! Wendy watched Kelby most of the day on Saturday so I could do some cleaning and laundry! Thanks so much!

Two Month Summary
Hello Everyone! I decided I would jump on the blog band wagon to keep up with Aunt Katie and Wendy! I meant to start this two months ago but I guess it's better now than never! This is my second time typing this blog... My first post went to blog outer space! Not very happy about it but I will try to write with as much enthusiasm as I did the first time :)
On Monday, September 10th I was on my way to work and started having a few stomach pains. They continued all morning, I tried playing them off so I didn't freak anyone out or get sent home! At noon I thought some fresh air and a walk around the lake would make me feel better. I also called big sister, Michelle to tell her what was up! She almost drove to SL and took me to the hospital because she was so excited! At 1pm, I called my doctors office and the nurse told me to go to the hospital to have my contractions monitored. My boss dropped me off at the hospital which was sort of ironic because we always joked about it happening! Once I was there they told me I would be having a baby later that day! Andrew was just going to start combining but I caught him in time and he made it to SL with in a hour. I will skip all of the labor details! Im sure we will talk about them at Christmas! Finally, at 12:14 am on 9/11 Kelby Lee arrived! He weighed 8 lbs 11oz and 21 inches. Our lives have not been the same since! Kelby is the best little boy and so sweet and cuddly! Andrew and I enjoyed our stay at BVRMC, the nurses were so great and helpful and the food was delicious!! We couldn't wait until the next meal. On Thursday we finally went home after lunch of course!
We had so many people come over to see Kelby, bring us delicious meals, or cute outfits! We are very blessed to have so many great family, friends, and neighbors!
I can only stay in the house for so long without getting antsy so Kelby has adjusted well with going places with his mom! We have a lot of great conversations in the car until he usually falls asleep then he prefers country music. When he was not even a week old we went out to eat in SC for Grandma Lori's Birthday. At 2 1/2 weeks we went to DM for my friend's wedding. He also attended 4 volleyball games to cheer on the Raptors! It's really rough on him to get passed around by the ladies! He has made many more trips to Ticonic, Carroll, SC and SL.
Some of Kelby's favorite things to do are lay on the ground and wiggle his arms and kick his legs and smile, look at himself in his penguin mirror, Grandma Lori's jungle play mat, and being held (preferably standing up), bounce on the exercise ball, and Tummy Tub time. I will explain more about the TT in a later post!
Our biggest challenge has been converting from the rock and play sleeper to the crib. He absolutely hated the crib, it finally dawned on me that the mattress was 7 years old! While the new mattress was on order he slept in the pack n play bassinet. This was also a challenge. Frank suggested letting him cry for 15 mins before I check on him. Yea that was really hard to do for a new mommy! My doctor suggested 12 mins. Which seemed a little better! :) After a few nights with lots of tears it finally worked and he will fall asleep on his own. Last night he slept for 9 hrs and 40 min! Way to go Kelby!! We can cross that off our list!
I would like to thank Grandma Betty, Grandma Lori and Frank for watching Kelby when I have bells practice, getting groceries, or out with the girls! Having a baby during the fall while being married to a farmer is not the easiest thing but with all of your help it has been so much better.
On Monday, Im returning to work. At least the days fly by and then I can get home to my precious boy. Karen Wessling is watching him and with her many years of experience I'm not too worried.
Please check out the pictures that are posted of Kelby in the previous post. As of Tuesday (9 weeks) he was 23 inches and weighed 12 lbs and 13.5 oz! He is wearing 3 to 6 months clothes and size 2 diapers!
